Fuel needs to be moved from the gas tank to the engine where it can burn and give power to your car. Gas from the tank is transferred to the engine by passing through the fuel injector. This converts the liquid gas to a fine mist so that it can burn easily.

The number of injectors is the same as the number of cylinders in an engine. Gas is delivered from the fuel pump through the fuel rail and is directed to the fuel injectors.

You should follow your manufacture maintenance schedule and get your fuel injectors flushed on a regular basis. This keeps the fuel injectors clean and will ensure a good spray pattern into the cylinders.
